DESCRIPTION:The target audience for this virtual class is first time IRB protocol submitters. Students who need to take this course should contact: HR Learning and Development at 348-9700 or HRLearningandDevelopment@ua.edu. \n\n\nThe purpose of The University of Alabama’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) is to ensure the safe and ethical treatment of humans as subjects in research\, public service\, and training programs. In accordance with federal and university regulations\, it is required that the IRB review all research involving human subjects conducted at or sponsored by the University of Alabama regardless of the funding source. \nThis course is designed to provide a general overview of the steps for submitting an IRB application\, and is geared toward first time IRB Protocol submitters. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES \n\nReview the steps for submitting an IRB Application\nDiscuss what to expect during the review process\nExplain post approval expectations and tips to ease the overall review process.\n\nCompetencies Supported: Ethics/Integrity
